Ten Minutes of Preparation Goes A LONG way…….

Today has been a great example of NOT being prepared……

I forgot it was picture day. (How do you forget it’s picture day?!) We had to find and fill out picture orders for four children, give two boys a haircut, throw together four outfits with whatever was clean, and hustle everyone out the door before 9am.

In the middle of all the chaos  my daughter’s carpool stopped by to take her to ballet class. I forgot she even HAD ballet class. She was still in pajamas so I had to send the carpool on their way, get my ballerina ready, and then drive her over for the remainder of her class.

I even forgot it was Wednesday. We eat lunch with Gramma on Wednesdays while I volunteer at the school’s library. We were dropping kindergarten carpool off when I suddenly remembered.  We ran in to volunteer but my little guy didn’t have a lunch.

Motherhood. Some days are just NOT a win. It’s hard to keep falling and falling after you stumble.

If I had taken TEN MINUTES to put all of these events into my phone I would not have forgotten any of them.

If I had taken TEN MINUTES over the weekend for each of my boys and cut their hair then, I wouldn’t have been rushed to do it this morning.

If I had taken TEN MINUTES and reminded my kids last night to lay everything out that they would need for pictures there would have been no extra stress this morning.

A whole day of CRAZINESS that could have been avoided…….. TEN MINUTES AT A TIME!!

PS All events have now been put into my calendar so that I will not forget them. And it only took me about ten minutes.

It’s a good thing that it’s impossible to fail picture day when you have such beautiful kids……
